My father died early January and myself, sister and brother were left with the daunting task of arranging his funeral. Having never organised a funeral before we spoke to Trish at Albert Slacks. Trish and everyone who works there showed compassion and guided us at this heartbreaking time.
Dad was a fantastic gardener and it was arranged for flowers from his own garden to be included in the flowers as well as many other personal touches, nothing was too much trouble.

I would personally like to thank Jonathan & the team for arranging my fathers funeral. Jonathan supported my family throughout and gave us the guidance & support to ensure my late father had a lovely funeral. Everything was planned to perfection and with great detail. What really touched me was when a small flower had fallen from the family flowers onto the floor outside the church, one of the team then placed the flower on my fathers grave, very thoughtful. I did want to say thank you on behalf of the family for all the arrangements. I’m not sure you can ever say you enjoyed a funeral but it makes it so much easier when you have total confidence in the people arranging it. The last thing you need at a time like that is to worry that things might not go to plan or that there might be a problem and on the day, the thought never even crossed my mind.
My father was quite involved in amateur dramatics in his younger days and prided himself on his abilities as a stage manager as well as an actor. He would have been very appreciative of the event and you all did; he always liked a well run show, so it was fitting that his final curtain call was carried out so well.

I can honestly say that the last 5 weeks since the tragic passing of my beloved daughter have been the most tragic and heart rendering that any mother could be expected to bear. I was recommended to you at Albert Slacks funeral directors to assist me through the process and I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart the service you provided from start to finish was not just exemplary but at every step of the way you guided me gently through this unknown process and enabled me to get through. Every aspect has been done with such sensitive consideration. The clothes, the cap, the help with catering and help to find Mrs J. Those extraordinary flowers where, if personification through flowers were possible we had them right there. Trish was simply wonderful to talk to and work with on the order of service too.
You have provided us all with such comfort which will continue in the days, weeks and years ahead because I think yesterday was exactly the sort of day Dad would have found remarkable and lovely.

When my father died in August the funeral director was superb and I only hoped that our experience with my mother would come close to that. I needn’t have worried. You and your team have been exceptional throughout and have made a terrible event more bearable.
I always used to think that it would be a very difficult job, doing what you do, and the last year has confirmed that it is. But I have also realised that there must be a great deal of honour that comes from seeing someone on their final journey with grace, dignity and respect and the knowledge that you have, at least in part, eased the grief of those who remain. Regards yesterday, we felt as though we had the best cars and the full team in attendance. I may have been a little over ambitious with the hike to the Chapel but the lads did great and we so appreciated how accommodating and encouraging you all were.
Don’t need to mention Dave, but you could tell him we couldn’t have wished for a better person to be involved. Rebecca was an amazing driver, and I so loved how she gauged the atmosphere in the car, engaged with us and helped to maintain a buoyant mood which helped set our intention for a real celebration. Then to discover that Gill from Goose Green flowers actually went to school with Ms B made the whole day feel all the more personal.
So thanks for everything, I hope we don’t meet again to soon, but we wouldn’t think twice about using any other service in the future.
It has been several weeks now since the Celebration for my Dad and guests have all gone home and final arrangements concluded. I wanted to write to you and your team to express our sincerest thanks for everything you did for my Dad and for the Family. To express how special the work is that you do and the long lasting positive impact you have on families who are at their most diminished with grief. Your team helps create memories that we will feel good about, amidst everything else.
When I called you two days after Dad’s passing, you professionally and compassionately started the journey with me to prepare for what lay ahead, what to expect and when, what was important and less important. You answered our questions, made suggestions and supported us in our ideas and our decisions, and ensured faultless execution, from the start to the very last moment when we returned from The Birches to join our guests.
You understood our desire to move Dad to your care from hospital with speed and you immediately took action to look after him, whilst we made plans for the Celebration which was three weeks distant. When we visited with Dad, it was clear how much care had been invested and it gave us huge comfort. You partnered with us on all aspects, the order of service, the flowers, the photographs we wanted to use and personally rendered them to perfection.
Perfection – Jonathan! This one word is what you and your team delivered for us, when we needed and wanted it, to honour my Dad to the last moment.

My Mum died the beginning of January and again we turned to Albert Slacks for guidance and help with her funeral as previously they had arranged my father’s funeral. As we all live out of the area Trish was able to advise us on flowers , catering and anything else that was needed. Mum loved flowers and we mentioned certain colours and varieties and when we saw the flowers on the day of the funeral they were perfect. Trish guided us on the day and on the morning of the funeral phoned to make sure we were all OK which was very touching. I would definitely recommend Albert Slacks for their caring approach to Mum’s funeral and the family.

The whole day was such a fitting tribute that could not have gone any more smoothly. It really was lovely. While we shed a few tears, we were also able to share in a few laughs throughout the day which I know my mom would have liked very much.
In addition, thank you for creating the wonderful video tribute, thank you for organizing the most beautiful flower arrangements, thank you for all your wonderful service recommendations, thank you for printing the Orders of Service, and thank you for providing an HDMI cable so that we could play the video tribute at The Bull’s Head.
I would be extremely grateful if you could pass on my thanks to Janet for putting together the magnificent flower arrangements. They were absolutely stunning. We especially loved the Dutch flag arrangement … everything from the thought and detail that went into putting the arrangement together including the choice of flowers themselves and the Dutch flag ribbon. Janet went above and beyond. They truly were beautiful and special flower arrangements. It was also nice for us to be able to take the flowers down to Prestbury Church at the end of the day to lay them down by my grandparents memorial stone which gave me some peace and comfort.
The reception at The Bull’s Head in Mottram St. Andrew also could not have gone any better. Everyone came and stayed for a few hours, sharing many fond memories and stories about mom. Many folk also commented on how great the venue, food, drinks, and service were. I would really appreciate it if you could share this feedback and pass on my sincere thanks to The Bull’s Head.
Lastly, I want to thank you, Jonathan, and your wonderful team for your kindness, compassion, thoughtfulness, for listening, and for all your patience. You really came through for my dad, my wife and I in our time of need.
